Tips for Laser Tattoo Removal Safety

It’s Important to Know About Laser Tattoo Removal Safety

Laser tattoo removal is something that anyone who has grown tired of their tattoos can benefit from.  To help you understand the process and what is involved, I have listed some helpful tips that will help you understand laser tattoo removal safety.

  • When you first arrive for your appointment, you will undergo some basic preparation. This will include the placement of protective eye shields over your eyes to protect them from the laser that will be used.  Your skin will also be tested to determine how it will react to the laser.  This also helps the technician determine what the most effective energy level for treatment should be.
  • Once you have undergone the initial preparation for the procedure, you are then ready to begin the procedure. During the course of treatment, you will have a hand piece placed against the surface of your skin.  Once the laser has been activated, you will soon begin to experience the pulse of the laser.  Many people have described this as being similar to having a rubber band snapped against your skin.
  • While it is common for tattoos that are smaller to require fewer sessions, you should be aware that the larger your tattoo is, the more treatments you will need to receive to lighten the tattoo to a point that you are satisfied with.
  • Once your treatment has been completed, you will then receive an ice pack which should be placed on the area that was treated with the laser. You will also receive after care instructions that may include directions on the application of any topical antibiotic creams or ointments.  You will also be instructed to apply sunscreen to the area that was treated to help protect it from the harmful rays of the sun.
  • You should keep in mind that once your procedure has been performed, your skin is at risk of becoming infected. You are also at risk of developing a scar on the skin where the procedure was performed.  If properly treated, you will greatly reduce the risk of infection.

•             Another risk that is associated with tattoo removal is hypopigmentation; this is when the skin that was treated with the laser becomes lighter than the surrounding skin.

Is Laser Tattoo Removal the Best Method?

Is Laser Tattoo Removal Your Best Option?

Have you decided that it’s time to remove your tattoo?  If so, you may be curious about the different types of removal procedures available.  To help you choose the best tattoo removal method, we will explain some of the options available for you to choose from.

You’ve likely heard of the different techniques that can be used to remove an unwanted tattoo.  While these procedures may provide you with the results you want, they can also leave you with unwanted scars.  Having a tattoo surgically removed is one option; while this option may be effective for very small sized tattoo removal, it often results in scarring of the skin if the tattoo is larger in size.

Another tattoo removal method is cryosurgery, also referred to as cryotherapy.  During this type of procedure, your tattoo is freeze-burned using liquid nitrogen.  While this procedure has been proven to be effective in the removal of warts, it does leave something to be desired when it comes to successfully removing a tattoo.

Laser Tattoo Removal is Effective

One of the most popular and effective tattoo removal methods is laser tattoo removal.  This process is effective because the ink of your tattoo can be targeted by the laser which then causes the ink to break up into fragments.  These residual fragments of ink are then naturally eliminated from your body by your immune system.  The process of removing your tattoo through the use of lasers is not a single visit procedure.  In order to obtain the desired results, you should be prepared for multiple visits.

While laser tattoo removal can be a rather time consuming procedure, it has been shown to be the most effective when it comes to lessening the visibility of your tattoo.  The technology used in the laser removal process has advanced in recent years.  You can now expect to see less scarring, in some cases none at all, and the level of pain experienced is rather minimal.  So, rather than waste time trying other procedures, you should definitely consider laser removal.  It has been shown to be the most effective tattoo removal method available.

How Does Keratin Hair Treatment Affect Hair?

Benefits of a Keratin Hair Treatment

Keratin Hair Treatment Reno

When it comes to keratin hair treatments there are a number of benefits.  Keratin is a protein that is naturally found in your hair.  When you receive a keratin treatment, your stylist will apply a keratin product designed to strengthen your hair.  Once this product is applied to your hair, it will then be sealed in using the heat of a flat iron.  To help you understand how a keratin hair treatment can help you, I have listed some of the top reasons why they are so popular.

  • Saves Time – When you apply a keratin hair treatment you will notice that it doesn’t take as long to blow dry and style your hair. It is estimated that applying a keratin treatment to your hair can cut the amount of time you spend blow drying your hair by 60%.
  • No More Frizz – If frizzy hair has been a problem for you, it won’t be once you apply a keratin hair treatment.
  • Give It Time – It is recommended that you wait for a minimum of three to four days before you wash your hair after receiving a treatment. This is because it takes time for the treatment to work, but once it does your hair will look beautiful.
  • Maintenance – Once you receive a keratin hair treatment you should only use sodium-sulfate-free shampoo to extend the life of your treatment.
  • Lasting Results – When you follow the recommended maintenance and care for your keratin hair treatment, you can expect the results to last between one and two months.

Many people feel that keratin hair treatments have dramatically changed the appearance and overall health of their hair.  If you have any further questions regarding how keratin hair treatments can be beneficial for you, you shouldn’t hesitate to consult one of our experts.  They are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.  If you’re tired of unruly hair, you should definitely consider how a keratin hair treatment can help improve the overall appearance of your hair.

Get the Most from Your Brazilian Wax

Know More About A Brazilian Wax

Since it was first introduced in 1987, the Brazilian wax has steadily grown in popularity. There are different versions of this particular waxing style, but a true Brazilian wax refers to all of the hair in the bikini region, front and back is removed. This leaves a clean and uniform look to the bikini area; if you are not a fan of going completely bare, you may opt for the popular landing strip. This term is used to describe a thin portion of hair which is left in the front. If you have never undergone a Brazilian wax, I’m going to explain the process in complete detail.

  • When you arrive for your appointment, you will be escorted to a private room where you can then remove your clothing from the waist down. Once you’re ready, you will then lie on a table and wait for your technician to arrive. In order for your procedure to be successful, it is highly recommended that your existing hair be between ¼ – ½ inch in order for the wax to properly adhere to the hair. To save your technician a little bit of work, you may choose to trim your pubic hair using an electric razor prior to your appointment.
  • Once you are ready to begin, your technician will begin applying wax to your pubic area. Each time wax is applied, your waxer will use a fresh applicator stick. The waxing process will begin in the front and move towards the back. When needed, you may be asked to hold portions of your skin flat so that the wax can properly be applied.
  • The entire process of a Brazilian wax is relatively quick. This means a much more enjoyable experience for you and less discomfort during and after the procedure. If you would prefer to have a landing strip left in place, you should inform your waxing technician prior to beginning the process. Once the waxing process is complete, your technician will remove any stray hairs that may have been missed and apply a soothing lotion over the areas that were waxed.

Gel Manicure vs Traditional Manicure

The Differences Between Manicures

When it comes to the differences between a gel manicure and a traditional manicure, there are quite a few. Gel manicures have recently become the more popular choice of the two. However, simply because one type of manicure is currently the “in” style, you should always choose the manicure type that is best for you.

Traditional Manicures

A traditional manicure consists of several steps and ends with the application of a regular nail polish in the color you have chosen. To begin, your fingernails are shaped by using files and other manicure tools. Once they have been properly shaped, your nails will then be soaked in warm water. After they have soaked for the specified period of time, the nail technician will then trim or push back your cuticles. After your cuticles have been taken care of, your hands and fingernails are then massaged using a hand cream. Once the hand cream has been applied, your nail technician will apply a base coat to your nails. After the base coat has thoroughly dried, they will then apply the color to your nails. When your traditional manicure is properly performed your nail polish should last for a few days without becoming chipped.

Gel Manicures are More Durable

One of the primary reasons why gel manicures have gained in popularity is because they are more durable and tend to last longer than traditional manicures. A gel manicure is applied in one of two ways, it can either be done by applying the gel directly to the nail bed or by attaching gel to a nail tip and applying it to nail. After the gel has been applied to your nail, you will then need to allow it to cure under a specially designed UV light, which causes the gel to harden.

Gel Manicures Have a lot of Benefits

Many people choose gel manicures because the majority of the products used in the process are odorless. The end result is very natural looking and can be worn without any type of nail polish applied. Another reason why so many people prefer gel nails is that there is little to no filing required. This is a great bonus for those who do not enjoy the filing process. While each manicure type features their own unique set of benefits, it is important that you choose the style that you feel is right for you.

What Type of Laser Will Be Used?

In the process of laser hair removal, there are typically two types of lasers used. For individuals with a lighter skin tone, they are often treated using an Alexandrite laser, which is viewed as the top of the line laser in the field. For clients who have naturally darker skin tones, a specific YAG laser will typically be used.

Who Will Perform The Procedure?

Any time a laser hair removal procedure is performed, it should be by someone who well-trained in the process. The process of laser hair removal is not something that should be performed by someone with little to no experience. Each technician should be thoroughly trained and educated in the correct usage of the device. This will ensure that you do not experience any problems or damage to your skin.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

In the area of laser hair removal, the number of sessions required to achieve your desired look may vary. The average number of sessions ranges from four to six, but some people experience results in fewer sessions.

Will A Tan Affect My Laser Hair Removal?

If you ask a laser hair removal technician this question and they answer yes, you should find another technician. While it is possible to treat tanned skin, it has to be done at such a low setting that the session is not effective. If you plan on undergoing laser hair removal, you should do so when your skin isn’t tanned.

What Is The Cost of Laser Hair Removal?

In order for laser hair removal to be effective; you will likely require a number of sessions. There are a number of different plans available for clients to choose from that are designed to ensure they receive the hair removal treatment they need at a price they can afford.

5 Benefits of Chemical Peels

How are Chemical Peels Beneficial?

Chemical Peels Reno

Chemical peels are designed to help improve the overall appearance of your skin. A chemical peel uses an acid solution which is designed to remove damaged portions of the outer layer of skin. Chemical peels enhance and smooth the texture of your skin on your face, hands, or neck. Additional reasons why chemical peels have become so popular include:

  • The appearance of fine lines around the mouth and under the eyes is greatly reduced.
  • Skin damage caused by sun exposure and aging can be treated.
  • The appearance of scars can fade dramatically through the use of chemical peels.
  • The appearance of dark patches, uneven pigmentation, age spots, and freckles can be reduced.
  • An overall improvement to the look and feel of your skin.

Take Care of Your Face After a Chemical Peel

After you undergo a chemical peel, you will notice that your skin has become more sensitive to the sun. This is only temporary and you should apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen on a daily basis. You should also limit the amount of time that you spend in the sun. This will help you avoid any discomfort caused by sun exposure to your freshly treated skin.

Chemical peels are often performed in your physician’s office or at a surgery center. It is an out-patient procedure which means that you will not be required to stay overnight. Prior to beginning the procedure, your skin will be cleansed thoroughly. After your skin has been properly cleansed, they will then apply a chemical solution which will act as a controlled wound, allowing new skin to grow in its place. During a chemical peel you will likely feel a burning sensation which will last for approximately five to ten minutes. At this point cold compresses will likely be placed on your skin to help ease the stinging sensation you are experiencing.

If you have been considering how a chemical peel can improve the overall appearance of your skin, please feel free to contact one of our experienced staff members. They will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the procedure.
